This floppy hat is made from sewn straw with a 14.5 cm brim, shortened if desired. For special requests, you can send us an e-mail or use our form. A supplement of €15 will be charged for this custom-made item.

The Wide Brim Hat’s History

<strong>The wide brim hat was born in the 19ᵉ century. You can recognize it by its large supple wide brim.</strong> Catherine Deneuve and Françoise Dorléac’s wide brim hats in Les Demoiselles de Rochefort give these hats their aura and glamour. <strong>Grace Kelly</strong> also wore many wide brim straw hats in pastel shades. They were embellished with muslin scarves tied around the cap.

Maison Fabienne Delvigne designed the Hepburn in an effort to bring all of the classic hat styles into one. It has the bottom of a boater while having the large brim of the wide brim hat. However, instead of being supple, it is stiffened with brass primers and wire. This hat was inspired by Audrey Hepburn. The Belgian actress was a great inspiration to the designer Fabienne Delvigne. She admired her elegance and sobriety.

Packaging

First, Maison Fabienne Delvigne carefully wraps the hats in tissue paper. They are then placed in a black hat box signed Fabienne Delvigne. These boxes are custom-made for the Maison.

Next, we place a certificate of authenticity next to the hat. Finally, we delicately perfume it with Eau de Cashmere by Maison Guerlain. This reminds us of a wonderful collaboration between our two Houses.
