Detail of the Fedora velvet felt
Indulge in the timeless classic of the Fedora velvet felt that is now available on our E-shop in several colors, including beige, burgundy, navy blue, and grey. This exquisite hat is trimmed with a matching ribbon on the brim and around the top, adding an extra touch of sophistication.
Much like cashmere for a jumper, velvet felt is exceptionally soft to the touch. Beyond its luxurious texture, it’s flattering to the face, thanks to its velvety aspect that reflects on the skin. Crafted with care and lightness, as always by Maison Fabienne Delvigne, this hat is remarkably light. Additionally, the soft material boasts waterproof properties, making it both practical and stylish for various occasions.
The history of the fedora hat
The fedora hat has always been considered a classic in the world of hats. It’s name fedora comes from the hat worn by the actress Sarah Bernhardt when she played the heroine in the play called “Fedora” of Victorien Sardou’s.
Since then, the hat was worn by many actors such as Humphrey Bogart in the film “Casablanca” or Alain Delon and Jean-Paul Belmondo in the film “Borsalino” but also by Harrison Fort in the “Indiana Jones” film series and finally by Michael Jackson in “Billie”. It has become an essential fashion accessory and is now worn by both men and women in their everyday life.

Maintenance
To maintain velvet and melusine felts, they should be brushed regularly with a clothes brush. For example, to remove any dust and to raise the hair. Indeed, brushing gives the hat its lustre and shine.
Packaging of the Fedora velvet felt
First, Maison Fabienne Delvigne carefully wraps the hats in tissue paper, and then places them in a black hat box designed by Fabienne Delvigne. These boxes are tailor made by Maison Fabienne Delvigne. Then, we place a certificate of authenticity next to the hat. Finally, we delicately perfume the hat with Guerlain’s “Eau de Cashmere”, a souvenir of the beautiful collaboration between our two Maisons.
