Did you know? We make hats from banana fibres. Every day, Fabienne Delvigne of Maison comes up with new, innovative and sustainable designs.

Like a cycle, the banana tree trunk releases its stems after sharing its fruits with us. This fibre, quite rough at first glance, often left on the ground or burnt, could bring diseases or end up lost and wasted. But thanks to careful purification, it is freed from insects and other pests.
These are then placed fibre by fibre, on old looms where they are finely woven in workshops in the Philippines or Cameroon. The result of this meticulous work then gives this sublime linen-like material with a wonderfully delicate sheen. Some are blended with fine silk threads. This material is dedicated to forming many exceptional works. These creations are the fruit of a circular and humanitarian economy.
Indeed, this journey doesn’t end there; for our Maison, women are at the heart of what we do. And thanks to this new opportunity, many women have been able to gain their independence and support themselves.
Of course, for us, the creative process continues as usual. Once it arrives, the material is delicately coloured by hand, before being sculpted and shaped by the designer’s skilful fingers. In our hats, bearing the Maison Fabienne Delvigne label, you will find in this slightly pearlescent raw material a symbiosis of nature, humanism and art.
Feel free to book an appointment to come and discover them in our workshop boudoir.
